The Paleo Lunchbox

SARAH over at EVERYDAY PALEO posted about school lunches today.  Check out her post HERE for some great ideas for packing healthy grain-free lunches for your child, as well as product recommendations.

Paleo Comfort Food Cookbook

I’m so excited to have just received my copy of PALEO COMFORT FOODS!  I can’t wait to start making the recipes, especially the Sweet Potato Pancakes, Fried Chicken, Biscuits and Gravy, and the Paleo Grits.  I’ve only skimmed through the beautifully photographed recipes, and already I have a whole page list of dishes I can’t wait to share with you!  Order a copy for yourself HERE.  Below I pass along a recipe from the book which was originally shared by Everyday Paleo.

Stop stressing over cardio!

Below is a thought provoking article by Jason Seib about the “correct” way to exercise for true fitness.  It’s an interesting read.  The comments make some very good points as well; click on the title link to see the original article with comments.  What are your thoughts? Continue reading

An incredible testimony!

I have a link to TESTIMONIALS in the sidebar in hopes someone’s Paleo testimony may strike a chord with some of my readers. This testimony about a girl my own daughter’s age is astonishing.  It is heartbreaking that she had to go through so much pain because the many doctors and specialists failed to recognize her diet as the root of all her problems.  Thankfully her mother was “daring” enough to try Paleo….and save her little girl’s life.  Doctors today are too quick to prescribe medication for everything, often without even asking what kind of diet the patient consumes, and certainly without considering grains as the culprit behind a myriad of health problems. Harmful Soda Infographic

This post from David Csonka of Naturally Engineered provides a very informative infographic about how our bodies process soda drinks.  I personally gave up soda almost a year ago and never looked back.  Like David, I sometimes drink seltzer water flavored with a little fresh juice if I am missing that “fizz” of soda.  Diet soda is no better than regular soda.  Both have the same ill effects on the body, and with diet soda an additional man-made chemical is presented for the body to deal with.   Continue reading

Why isn’t this working?

As I am finally getting back to reality after my long vacation by the sea, I promise to find time to plan a few new Paleo meals in the near future.  For now, I would like to share a post from Everyday Paleo.  Whether you are just beginning your Paleo journey or you have been at it for quite a while, this article is sure to spark an “aha” moment. Shared Post

I’ve been out of touch lately and a little song comes to mind, “Toes in the water, arse in the sand, not a worry in the world, cold “drink” in my hand.  Life is good today.  Life is good today.”  Had a great vacation on the beach, but now it’s back to reality….the house, the dog, the kids, the laundry, the GYM (omg!) and back to blogging (yeah!).   We tried our best to remain Primal on our vacation and I will soon share our menu of sorts, but today I would like to pass along a post from Naturally Engineered concerning nutrition and kids (again!).  The mention of the cheese and crackers with the little red spreading stick really hit home with me, as it was not that long ago they were what got me through a trip to the grocery store with toddlers in tow.  Now I know better.  Life is good today.
